Dermal fillers are a very popular form of treatment, commonly used for lip enhancement and the reduction of facial lines. In South Woodford and on Harley Street, the dermal fillers are injected into your skin, filling any creases and wrinkles within the skin, whilst also being used to enhance the volume of your lips or cheeks.
Dr Bawa uses only the best products in the work that he does in South Woodford and on Harley Street, with the Juvéderm® Vycross fillers range favoured for this form of treatment. This range of Juvéderm® fillers are advanced, safe and contain lidocaine (a local anaesthetic), contributing to a more comfortable and enjoyable treatment experience. Dr Bawa prides himself on accentuating and enhancing facial features, whilst ensuring a subtle and natural-looking finish.

Your Consultation: The most important part of your patient journey is the initial consultation, as it allows us to really understand what your concerns are. Using this insight, we strive to address your concerns and exceed your expectations by helping you to achieve fantastic results with our face fillers.
What is included in the initial consultation?
- A comprehensive assessment of your requirements and concerns.
- Thorough medical assessment.
- Clinical photos to assess before and after treatment (always confidential).
- Bespoke treatment plan including detailed explanation on how we will achieve your goal.
- Dedicated time in which we will answer any questions you may have honestly and clearly.
Pre-Treatment: We advise you to refrain from alcohol for 24 hours prior to treatment, as alcohol consumption can increase the risk of mild bleeding or bruising.
Appointment: We’ll welcome you to the clinic and your consent will be taken for the treatment. Any questions are welcome throughout and we’ll keep checking that you’re happy as our Juvéderm® fillers treatment progresses. When the treatment is complete, we’ll arrange a follow-up appointment, of which is extremely important to ensure that you are happy with the results.
Time taken: Our dermal fillers treatment takes 15 to 45 minutes.
Downtime: There may be some mild swelling and tenderness for up to 48 hours, especially after lip enhancement. Most patients go straight back to work.
After-care: Avoid extreme heat and do not have any facials, facial massages, and sauna or steam room treatments for 2 weeks. Such treatments can cause the dermal filler to move or its shape to be altered, severely impacting the end result of our treatment. Patients who suffer from cold sores may wish to start anti-viral medication before treatment and for a few days following the face filler treatment, and this is something that Dr Bawa can prescribe for you. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any concerns on 020 3795 9063.
How long will it take to work: You’ll see results instantly. Occasionally top-ups are requested to optimise the final enhancement – we can discuss if required. Please note that dermal filler is priced per syringe and any top-ups will incur additional costs.
Up to 24 months depending on age, lifestyle, type and quantity of dermal filler.* We recommend returning every 9 to 24 months to ensure the effects do not wear off entirely.
*Individual results may vary.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does it work?
Dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the human body. Over time, the body produces less hyaluronic acid causing loss of volume and creases and lines to form. Dermal fillers replace the hyaluronic acid to produce fullness and softness within the treatment areas for a rejuvenated and youthful appearance.
Is it painful?
Most patients describe a mild discomfort rather than pain. The dermal fillers we use contain local anaesthetic to help optimise patient comfort. We can also use numbing cream if you’d prefer – just let us know.
Are there any side-effects?
Mild swelling and tenderness is common and last for up to 48 hours especially with lip enhancement. Rarer risks are bruising, asymmetry and infection. Very rarely, if a patient is unhappy with the final result, we can easily dissolve the filler using hyalase, an enzyme which breaks it down.
Is there anyone the treatment is not suitable for?
It’s not appropriate for pregnant women or patients who are breastfeeding. It’s also not suitable for people with severe allergies.
Can I have treatment on the same day as my consultation?
We usually like to provide a cool-down period between your consultation and treatment as this gives you time to consider your treatment plan and ask any further questions you may have Many patients have researched extensively or have had treatment previously, and would like the treatment on the same day. Obviously, that’s fine – just let us know when you book so that we
